- Path from Valley Trail to the dock is not hard-surfaced; step up onto dock
- PUP pilot: compostable dog-waste bags and red PUP compost bins
- Keep a leash visible; leash your dog when entering and leaving the off-leash area
- Buses 10, 20 and 21 stop at Bayshores, about a 10-minute walk away.
- Pay parking ($2.50 an hour) applies daily 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from May 15 to September 15.

In winter, when they're groomed for multi-use (snow permitting), three Valley Trail sections are off-leash: Rainbow Park to Meadow Park Sports Centre (3.8 km), Fitzsimmons Trail to the Lost Lake PassivHaus, and the Riverside Campground dyke to Alpine Way.
