- Two portals to the top of the dunes are wheelchair accessible.
- Do not take rocks or sand from the spit.

- Beach mats near HMCS Quadra make the last portal accessible May to September.
- Beach fires allowed May 1 to Labour Day in the 10 fire rings on the outer beach (unless there is a ban); none from September to April.

In Comox Valley Regional District parks, dogs may be off leash if they're under control: on the trail, within 10 m of you and coming when called. A leash is required in Little River, Barbara Road, Lazo Wildlife, Masters, One Spot, qax mot and Royston Seaside parks, on the Bear Creek hatchery trails from August to December, at Goose Spit from March 1 to May 20, and at Seal Bay from April to June and on its east side.
